MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Maryland-National Capital Park Police (Montgomery County division) said officers were on the scene of a barricade in Bethesda on Thursday.

Police said that at around 9:45 a.m., officers responded to a call in the 5300 block of Willard Ave. for a person trespassing inside a vacant park building in Willard Avenue Neighborhood Park.

There, police said they found a man armed inside the property with a knife. Police identified him as Jose Angel Diaz-Vasquez, 66.

When officers attempted to enter the property, Vasquez threatened them with a knife and refused to leave, according to police.

    He then barricaded himself inside.

Montgomery County SWAT police were called to the scene and removed Vasquez from the house, arresting him. No one was harmed.

    The investigation is ongoing.
