    Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in Northwest DC

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday in Northwest D.C.

    The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that at about 2:19 a.m. on Sept. 1, a man was walking on a sidewalk in the 900 block of U Street NW.

    He started crossing the street in a crosswalk on Vermont Avenue NW against the do-not-walk signal when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. The driver did not stop and continued northbound on Vermont Avenue.

    The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

    He was identified as 26-year-old Myles Kevin Mcewen of Northwest D.C.
