    DC Bike Ride to shut down many roads around the District

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — DC Bike Ride will be closing roads throughout the District this weekend.

    From Sept. 6 to Sept. 7, the DC Bike Ride will be shutting down roads and restricting parking.

    These roads will be closed from 6 p.m. on Sept. 6 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 7:

    • Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from 3 rd Street, NW to 7 th Street, NW
    • 4 th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Madison Drive, NW
    • 6 th Street, NW from Constitution Avenue, NW to C Street, NW
    • 7 th Street, NW from Indiana Avenue Street, NW  to Constitution Avenue, NW
    • Constitution Avenue, NW from 3 rd Street, NW to 7 th Street, NW

    These roads will be closed from 2 a.m. on Sept. 7 to noon:

    • Constitution Avenue, NW from 14 th Street, NW to 7 th Street, NW
    • 12 th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Madison Drive, NW
    • 0th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW
    • 9 th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW

    These roads will be posted as Emergency No Parking from 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 7 to noon:

    • 14 th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to D Street, SW
    • Independence Avenue, NW from 14 th Street, NW to 3 rd Street, SW
    • Maryland Avenue from Independence Avenue to 3 rd Street, SW
    • 3 rd Street from Constitution Avenue to Independence Avenue, NW
    • 27 th Street, NW from K Street, NW to I Street, NW

    These roads will be closed from 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 7 to noon:

    • 14 th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to 14 th Street Bridge
    • Independence Avenue, NW from 3 rd Street, NW to 23 rd Street, SW
    • 23 rd Street, NW from Lincoln Circle to Independence Avenue, SW
    • Arlington Memorial Bridge from Lincoln Circle to George Washington Parkway
    • Rock Creek Drive from Memorial Parkway Drive to Virginia Avenue, SW
    • Potomac River Freeway from Ohio Drive, NW to Whitehurst Freeway, NW
    • Whitehurst Freeway from M Street to 27 th Street, NW
    • 27 th Street, NW from K Street, NW to Virginia Avenue, NW
    • Virginia Avenue, NW from New Hampshire Avenue, NW to Rock Creek Parkway, NW
    • E Street Expressway from Theodore Roosevelt Bridge to 19 th Street, NW
    • 20 th Street, NW from Virginia Avenue, NW to E Street, NW
    DC’s Doggy Day Swim 2024 being held at 4 pools

    Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to find other ways around.

    Cars that are illegally parked in these areas will be ticketed and towed.

    So, a disabled resident can't travel, or conduct business on these streets, because they must travel by van or car? As usual the city shows how little they think of anyone with disabilities, since bikes are their priority, way to go Mayor.
