    Truck driver injured in crash on Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Anne Arundel County

    ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Police said the driver of a truck was hurt after they crashed on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Anne Arundel County early Friday morning.

    The United States Park Police (USPP) told DC News Now that around 2 a.m., officers were notified of a single-vehicle crash involving a truck near Route 198.

    According to the Maryland Department of Transportation, the tractor-trailer overturned and blocked lanes on the parkway.

    Once on the scene, first responders took the driver to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

    For several hours, traffic on the BW Parkway was delayed.

    As of 8:17 a.m., the USPP said one lane was closed as crews worked to remove the truck from the crash site.

    When did they start allowing trucks on the BW parkway? I thought they were banned because it wasn't built to handle the tractor trailers
