ARLINGTON, Va. ( DC News Now ) — A raccoon was released back into the wild after it made its way into an apartment complex in Arlington Sunday evening.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) said one of its Animal Control officers “served this sneaky raccoon an eviction notice from a local apartment complex.”

“[The officer] was able to relocate him to much more appropriate housing – a nearby tree,” AWLA stated in a Facebook post.

The “sneaky” raccoon is back in the wild, “where he belongs,” said AWLA.
