    Blacksburg police officer helps mother deliver baby during call

    BLACKSBURG, Va. ( WFXR ) – The week of Sept, 2, Lieutenant Hayes with the Blacksburg Police Department responded to a 911 that was like no other.

    The call was about a couple trying to get to the hospital for the delivery of their baby. Once Lt. Hayes arrived to assist the couple, the mother-to-be was in labor and Lt. Hayes ended up helping with the delivery of baby Olivia.

    A week later, both Mom and Olivia were doing well.

    On Monday, Sept. 9, the whole family including Olivia’s new big brother, stopped by the police department for an official introduction between Lt. Hayes and Olivia.The
