    VSP cancels alert after missing man last seen in Culpeper in August was found

    UPDATE, 9/10, 1:30 p.m. — Hartnett was safely located, police said.


    CULPEPER COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Virginia State Police (VSP) has issued a critically missing adult alert for a man who disappeared over a month ago in Culpeper.

    Troopers, along with the Culpeper Police Department, are searching for 28-year-old Kevin Joseph Hartnett, who was last seen on Aug. 7 on Oriole Court.

    VSP described Hartnett as around five feet ten inches tall with blue eyes and brown hair. He weighs around 160 lbs, and his clothing is unknown at this time.

    Investigators believe Hartnett is possibly driving a gray Nissan Versa, with the Virginia Tag,1654N.

    VSP said his disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety.
