    Woman dies weeks after getting hit by stolen car in DC

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Police said a woman died in the hospital more than two weeks after she was hit by a car while trying to cross the street in Northeast D.C.

    The crash happened on Aug. 20, just before 10 p.m. According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), a woman was crossing the street outside the crosswalk in the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue when a Hyundai Elantra struck her.

    Police said the Hyundai was traveling south on Minnesota Avenue when it hit the woman and fled the scene.

    Maryland man dies after stabbing, crash in DC

    D.C. police said the pedestrian, identified as 39-year-old Tiffany Amanda Pippen, of no fixed address, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. She died from her injuries on Sept. 8.

    As the investigation continued, police officers recovered the Hyundai and learned it was stolen.
