WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Maryland State Police (MSP) are investigating after a car crashed on Interstate 70 in Washington County on Tuesday morning, leaving four people injured.

Shortly before 7:30 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barrack responded to the area of eastbound I-70, near mile marker 11, for a report of a single-vehicle crash, according to MSP.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a Mazda, operated by Yelson Aguilar, 19, of Baltimore, was traveling east on I-70 when, for unknown reasons, it traveled off the roadway and overturned in the median.

Police closed I-70 for more than an hour after the crash to investigate.

The investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to contact the Hagerstown Barrack at 301-766-3800.
