Crews battle fire at apartment complex in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — More than 75 firefighters responded to an apartment complex after a fire broke out in Montgomery County early Thursday morning.

In a post on X , around 5:40 a.m., Pete Piringer with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to the 18000 block of Lost Knife Circle for a building on fire.

Once on the scene, firefighters found flames coming from the third floor of an apartment building.

As units worked to contain the blaze, Piringer said firefighters assisted residents from the building.

EMS also evaluated patients at the scene for smoke inhalation, but it is unknown if anyone was hurt.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
