ARLINGTON, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Arlington Department of Environmental Services (ADES) said crews were working to repair two separate water main breaks on Friday morning.

One water main broke in the 1600 block of Fairfax Drive, in the Rosslyn area, leaving about 200 customers who live in a high-rise building without water for hours.

The second water main break, was just blocks away, at 1001 19th St N. The ADES said this main break was eight inches and impacted about 50 customers.

As crews worked on both repairs, an office building in the area had to close its doors.

As of Friday morning, Fairfax Drive was blocked off and a detour was in place for drivers. The ADES said repairs are expected to be complete by 3 p.m.

People who lived in the area told DC News Now they hoped the issue would be fixed quickly.
