    Small plane with 3 people on board crashes off runway at BWI Airport

    ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Officials for Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) said a small, single-engine aircraft with three people on board crashed Saturday afternoon.

    The small plane crashed off the end of the general aviation runway. The BWI Marshall Airport Fire and Rescue Department, airport operations personnel and mutual aid support responded to the scene.

    According to BWI director of communications Johnathan Dean, the three on board the aircraft sustained no “major injuries.”

    Dean said there is no impact on airline operations.

    The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was notified.
