PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said a man has died, and two people have been arrested following a shooting outside of a car wash in Woodbridge on Saturday.

According to PWCPD, at around 3:50 p.m., officers responded to the Sonic Soft Car Wash, located at 14109 Richmond Highway, to investigate a shooting.

The investigation revealed that Earl Duwan Miller, 54, of Woodbridge, and Jermaine Antwoine Lewis, 25, of Springfield, were involved in a verbal altercation outside the car wash.

The two men separated briefly before another altercation ensued, turning physical.

During the altercation, Lewis brandished a firearm, shooting Miller in the upper body, according to police.

Police said a woman who was with Lewis, Vinisha Lanisa Neville, 29, of Woodbridge, also displayed a firearm.

After the shooting, the suspects fled in their car before Virginia State Police apprehended them along I-95 in Fairfax County.

Responders transported Miller to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.

“Very sad, sad situation,” said Daniel Ciconte, of Triangle, Va., who drove past the car wash shortly after the shooting happened. “You know the crime situation is really bad…let’s love each other and, you know, avoid this situation.”

Gunfire struck one exterior wall of a building, but no injuries or additional property damage were reported.

“Let’s resolve problems amicably. It doesn’t need to come to this,” said Ciconte.

    Officers arrested Lewis and Neville.

Authorities charged Lewis with second degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and shooting from an occupied vehicle. He is being held without bond.

Neville was charged with brandishing a firearm.
