    Man killed in shooting near Dupont Circle in DC, police investigating

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Detectives in D.C. are investigating after a person was killed in a shooting near Dupont Circle overnight.

    The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) told DC News Now that just after 4:30 a.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of Rhode Island Ave. for a shooting.

    There, responding officers found a man who had been shot. He died at the scene.

    On Monday morning, crime scene tape blocked off Rhode Island Avenue as officers continued their investigation.

    In a post on X, around 5:14 a.m., MPD issued a lookout for three men wearing all black with ski masks in a white vehicle.

    Anyone with information is asked to call police at 202-727-9099 or text 50411. Calls and texts can remain anonymous.
