    DC police identify man killed in shooting on Adams Place in Northeast

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has released the name of the man who was killed in a shooting in Northeast D.C. on Saturday.

    In an update, police identified the victim as 44-year-old Erik Mewborn, of Northeast.

    On Sept. 14, shortly after 5 a.m., D.C. police officers responded to a report of a man down in the 2200 block of Adams Place.

    Man killed in shooting near Dupont Circle in DC, police investigating

    Once on the scene, crews found Mewborn suffering from a gunshot wound.

    DC Fire and EMS responded; however, he died at the scene.

    The investigation is ongoing.

    Police encourage anyone with information to call 202-727-9099 or text tips to 50411. MPD said it is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
