    DC police investigating after man shot, killed in alley

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Detectives in D.C. have opened a homicide investigation after officers found a man shot in an alley in Northeast on Sunday.

    The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that just before 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 15, officers were called to the 400 block of 50th St. for a shooting.

    There, responding officers found an unconscious man lying in an alley with a gunshot wound.

    DC Fire and EMS were called to assist at the scene. However, the man died there.

    His name has not been released.
