    Trial date set for husband of missing Manassas Park mother Mamta Kafle Bhatt

    PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — A Prince William County judge has set the trial date for Naresh Bhatt, who is accused of killing his wife, Mamta Kafle Bhatt, and concealing her body.

    Prosecutors said they believe that Naresh killed Mamta at the end of July when she went missing. Authorities charged him with concealing a dead body.

    However, according to police, she has not been found.

    The couple have a 1-year-old daughter together.

    Defense for husband of Mamta Kafle Bhatt pushes prosecutors to turn over evidence

    Naresh’s defense team has been working to speed up the legal process in the case as the search for Mamta is ongoing.

    Most recently, prosecutors were forced to turn over evidence to the defense, including police body camera footage, transcripts of Naresh’s communication with police and photos and videos.

    Naresh’s trial will begin on Dec. 9, 2024, at 9 a.m., with a pre-trial hearing set for Nov. 2.
