    PHOTOS: Montgomery County crews respond to scrap fire at transfer station

    DERWOOD, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Montgomery County fire crews were at the Transfer Station in Derwood on Monday after a large scrap pile caught fire.

    In a post at 12:20 p.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) Spokesperson Pete Piringer said that crews were at 16101 Frederick Road for a fire.

    In an update a few minutes later, Piringer said that the fire had been contained. The flames did not reach the building.

    Piringer said that no injuries were reported.
