Man dead after shooting at apartment complex in Waldorf; 2 arrested

CHARLES COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said a man is dead after a shooting at a Waldorf apartment complex on Monday afternoon.

According to CCSO, the shooting happened at around 1:15 p.m. at an apartment complex at the intersection of Lewisham Place and St. Matthews Drive.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said evictions were happening at the complex today.

One man died at the scene.

CCSO said witnesses told police they saw the suspects flee in a U-Haul truck.

A short pursuit ensued, and patrol officers arrested two people in the area of Crain Highway at Plaza Drive.

Preliminarily, CSCO believes some people got into an argument, someone pulled out a gun and there was an exchange of gunfire.
