STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Officials said an automatic crash notification alerted Stafford County deputies of a crash involving a teenager on Saturday.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) said the crash happened on Sept. 14 at around 2 a.m. on Embrey Mill Road.

SCSO said it found out about the collision because of an automatic crash notification from an iPhone. Dispatch could hear a voice say, “They’re gonna know,” and “I can’t blow zeros.”

That same voice then requested dispatchers not to send anybody because they were “fine.”

When deputies arrived at the scene of the crash, they found a Dodge Charger that had left the roadway and was in several bushes.

The driver, a 17-year-old girl, said she had swerved to avoid hitting a deer, but SCSO deputies said she was showing signs of intoxication.

SCSO said she admitted to “playing beer pong” before she got into her car and started driving. Deputies also found marijuana in her possession.

SCSO said criminal complaints for driving under the influence, driving after illegally consuming alcohol, unlawful possession of alcohol and underage possession of marijuana were submitted but she was ultimately turned over to her parents.
