    FCSO: Deputies searching for man who entered Urbana High School, assaulted staff member

    FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) said deputies are looking for a “suspicious man” who entered Urbana High School and assaulted a staff member on Tuesday.

    According to FCSO, at around 11 a.m., the man entered the high school through an outside door.

    A staff member noticed the man inside the school and escorted him out. As the employee was closing the door, the suspect assaulted him before running off of the campus, according to the sheriff’s office.

    No students or other staff were harmed.

    The school resource officer was immediately contacted and began investigating. Deputies are now searching for the man, pictured below.

    As a result, deputies will be in the Urbana area for school dismissal on Tuesday.

    Police encourage anyone with information to call 911 or the non-emergency line at 301-600-2071.
