MCPD: Third person charged in connection to fatal shooting last year

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) announced Thursday that a third person was charged in a fatal shooting that happened last year .

Orlando Alexander Satz, Jr., 20, died on Nov. 28, 2023, after crashing into a parked car on Spruell Drive. First responders at the scene noticed gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead.

Detectives charged 22-year-old Alonzo Jerome Lyles of Gaithersburg with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in connection to Satz’s death.

Lyles is the third person to be charged in the case.

On June 20, MCPD arrested Jose Ramoon Ventura, the suspected getaway driver .

Investigators said Ventura allegedly drove a black Honda Civic with two suspects – Lyles and 22-year-old De’Shaun McCrimmon – who fled after the shooting.

On Aug. 27, detectives arrested McCrimmon and charged him with first-degree murder.

He and Lyles are both being held without bond.
