    Takoma Park police giving out free Tile Mate tracking devices

    TAKOMA PARK, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Takoma Park Police Department will give residents free Tile Mate tracking tags on Saturday.

    The distribution event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Maple Avenue and Sligo Creek Parkway on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies run out.

    To be eligible to receive one, residents must:

    • Live in Takoma Park
    • Bring a photo ID and matching vehicle registration showing proof of address
    • Employees of the City are eligible if they live in Takoma Park

    The Tile Mates are tracking devices that can help locate missing or stolen things. It works with both iPhones and Android phones.
