MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — A jury found a Silver Spring man guilty of shooting at two men in 2021, one of whom died.

On Jan. 14, 2021, Keith Delcid-Palacios, now 25, walked up to a car in the parking lot of Highland Elementary School in Silver Spring. 21-year-old Martin Nolan was sitting in the driver’s seat with a friend in the passenger’s.

The Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office said Delcid-Palacios repeatedly yelled, “Where’s Scrappy?” and pistol-whipped Nolan in the head.

When Nolan put the car in drive, Delcid-Palacios said, “If you leave, I am going to blast your a–.” Nolan drove forward and he shot him.

Nolan lost control of the vehicle and struck another car. The passenger ran from the vehicle as Delcid-Palacios shot at him. He was not hit.

    Nolan died from his injuries.

On Sept. 26, a jury convicted Delcid-Palacios of second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and other related charges.

As the trial progressed, his brother, Jeffery Delcid-Palacios, was arrested and charged with two counts of intimidating a witness and one count of obstruction of justice. He is being held without bond awaiting trial.

Keith is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 7. He faces the potential of life in prison plus an additional 130 years.
