    WATCH: Electrical fire in Montgomery County shuts down roads

    MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — A utility pole caught fire in Olney on Friday afternoon, causing several roads to be blocked off or closed.

    Shortly before 4 p.m., Pete Piringer, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said wires were down and there was an electrical fire in the area of Olney-Laytonsville Road.

    Rt. 108 between Queen Elizabeth Drive and Burtfield Drive was blocked as crews worked to put out the fire.
