    Leesburg police investigating Truist Bank robbery

    LEESBURG, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Leesburg police have arrested a man in connection to a bank robbery Friday.

    The Leesburg Police Department said officers headed to the Truist Bank, located at 1007 Edwards Ferry Road NW, for a report of a bank robbery in progress at around 11:45 a.m.

    Officers began searching the area and spotted a man, who matched the description of the bank robber, near the Leesburg Premium Outlet Mall, located at 241 Fort Evans Road NE. That prompted the man to run and after a brief chase, he was arrested.

    The man was identified as Joshua Boyce, 25, and charged with robbery and wearing of a mask in connection with a robbery.

    Boyce was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

    Anyone who was near the Truist Bank before or at the time of the robbery or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity is asked to call (703) 771-4500 or text 274637.
