    Boy shot in Northwest DC, police searching for suspect

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Police in D.C. are looking for a suspect after a boy was hurt in a shooting on Monday afternoon.

    The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said it received a call about a shooting in the 5900 block of Georgia Avenue NW shortly after 4:20 p.m. They said a 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg there.

    MPD investigates homicide of 1-year-old girl in Northwest DC

    He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    MPD said they were looking for a boy in his early teens who might be responsible. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
