MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Detectives have arrested and charged three teenage boys in connection to an armed carjacking that happened Friday night in Silver Spring.

According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), on Sept. 27, at around 9:45 p.m., officers responded to the 13700 block of Colgate Way for the report of an armed carjacking.

An investigation revealed that the three suspects (a 17-year-old boy and two 15-year-old boys) physically assaulted the victim as she got out of her car in the parking lot. The three then took her car keys and cell phone before leaving in her Lexus, according to police.

She was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
