    Hyattsville man charged for fatally shooting DC man, police say

    PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) said it arrested a man in connection to a fatal shooting that happened earlier this month.

    PGPD said 18-year-old Dartrell Bryant of Hyattsville was charged with first and second-degree murder for fatally shooting 26-year-old Jawaun Jackson of Washington, D.C.

    Officials responded to the report of a man in the roadway in the 2900 block of 52nd Avenue on Sept. 19 at about 8:45 p.m. There, they found Jackson suffering from gunshot wounds.

    He was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Investigators said Bryant and Jackson knew each other. He is being held without bond.
