    1 dead, teen hospitalized after pickup truck veered off I-70 in Frederick County

    FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — A man died and a teenager was injured in a crash on Interstate 70 in Frederick County Wednesday morning.

    Maryland State Police told DC News Now that the crash happened around 2 a.m. on Oct. 9 on I-70 East, near Exit 42.

    According to state police, 20-year-old Marin Mihai of Glendale, New York, was driving a 2013 GMC Sierra pickup truck when, for reasons unknown, swerved off the road and crashed into a tree and a metal fence.

    He died at the scene.

    Troopers said a teenage boy, who was a passenger in the truck, was taken to a hospital in Hagerstown for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

    The crash remains under investigation by state police.

    I live close to I 81 and 70 there has been a lot of accidents and quite a few deaths.
