    MPD charges man in connection to 2023 murder investigation

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — After more than five months, D.C. police announced a man has been arrested in connection to a murder investigation from 2023.

    In an update on Oct. 9, 2024, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said authorities arrested and charged 39-year-old Juan Adams, of Northwest, D.C., in connection to the shooting death of 38-year-old Michael Hansley.

    DC police identify Alexandria man killed in Northeast shooting

    On Dec. 2, 2023, D.C. police officers responded to the 1700 block of Benning Road Northeast for a shooting. There, they found Hansley lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound.

    He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

    According to MPD, on Tuesday, the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Adams. He was charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed.
