    PGPD: Man arrested in Mount Rainier shooting that left 1 dead, 2 hurt

    MOUNT RAINIER, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Police said a man is facing murder charges in connection to a deadly shooting outside of a liquor store in Mount Rainier in September.

    On Oct. 9, the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) announced that 39-year-old Louis Gregory, of Brentwood, was charged and accused of the murder of 22-year-old Freiyer Yanez-Salas of Washington, D.C.

    On Sept. 23, around 7:30 p.m., Mount Rainier police officers were called to the 3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue for a shooting, where they found Yanez-Salas dead inside a vehicle.

    A man and a woman, who were also shot, were taken to the hospital.

    As the investigation developed, detectives learned that Gregory allegedly shot the victims during a dispute.

    He was charged with first and second-degree murder and other related charges.

    PGPD said Gregory is being held on a no-bond status at the Department of Corrections.
