Bicyclist critically injured in collision on West Ox Road in Fairfax County

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — First responders took a bicyclist to the hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a vehicle in Fairfax County on Wednesday afternoon.

In a post on X just before 1 p.m., the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said officers were on the scene of a crash at West Ox Road and Tilton Valley Drive, near Penderwood.

Police said the bicyclist, a man, had life-threatening injuries.

The driver remained at the scene.

As of 12:55 p.m., southbound West Ox Road was closed at Ox Trail, and drivers were encouraged to seek alternative routes.

The crash is under investigation by the FCPD’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
