    DC police arrest 18-year-old for armed robbery, more

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Police in D.C. arrested an 18-year-old man for three different armed offenses that happened in August, officials announced Thursday.

    The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that 18-year-old Rodney Bennett of Northeast D.C. was arrested after an investigation into the incidents.

    The first offense happened on Aug. 28. MPD said Bennett and other suspects were accused of using guns while robbing a person at the intersection of 5th St. and Neal Place NE. The robbery happened around 11:55 a.m.

    The second incident happened on the same day, around 7:20 p.m. MPD said that Bennett was accused of illegally firing a gun in the 600 block of Edgewood St. NE. One of the bullets entered an apartment through a window, but no injuries were reported.

    The third and final incident happened several hours later, on Aug. 29 around 12:20 a.m. Police said that suspects approached victims in the 1900 block of 8th St. NW. They once again used guns while robbing the victims before escaping.
