    Water main break in Fairfax, officials say

    FAIRFAX, Va. ( DC News Now ) — A water main broke in a Fairfax neighborhood on Wednesday morning, according to the City of Fairfax Police Department.

    In a post on X at 8:52 a.m., police said a water main broke in the 3500 block of Brookwood Drive. Officials had shut down Brookwood Drive at Blenheim Boulevard and Colony Road.

    In an update at 9:20 a.m ., police said the road had reopened, and Fairfax Water was on the scene. Repairs are estimated to take six to eight hours, and police encourage drivers to drive carefully through the area.
