24-year-old man airlifted after being hit by train in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. ( WFXR ) – The Danville Police Department (DPD) says a train accident occurred involving a pedestrian on October 11.

DPD said around 6 p.m. on Friday, officers arrived at an overpass near South Main Street after receiving information about a person being hit by a train. On the scene, an injured 24-year-old man was found on the tracks.

Emergency responders removed the man and airlifted him out of Danville for further treatment.

No charges have currently been filed.
