    Kellogg, Mountaineers add fifth national TV game to 2024-25 slate

    MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The No. 16 WVU women’s basketball team already knew its schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season consisted of four nationally televised games .

    A fifth national TV game was added on Wednesday.

    The American Athletic Conference announced that West Virginia’s non-conference road game at Temple on Dec. 15 will be televised on ESPN2. It will be WVU’s only non-conference game on national TV and one of three games throughout the season that will be televised nationally on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.

    WVU’s two other national TV games will be televised on FOX.

    West Virginia and Temple battled as league rivals from 1982-95 in the Atlantic 10. This year’s matchup will be their first meeting since Mike Carey’s group faced the Owls in the 2015 WNIT Final Four. WVU won that game 66-58, advancing to the WNIT title game.

    Mark Kellogg’s program is 25-6 against Temple, all-time. WVU is 11-2 against the Owls in games played away from Morgantown.

    The 16th-ranked Mountaineers begin the regular season against Towson on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed exclusively on ESPN+.
