    Alexandria police investigating pedestrian crash near Fort Ward Park

    ALEXANDRIA, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Alexandria police officers were on the scene of a pedestrian crash near Fort Ward Park on Thursday morning.

    In a post on X just after 8 a.m., the Alexandria Police Department (APD) said a person was hit by a vehicle in the 2500 block of N. Van Dorn Street.

    Firefighters battle Bladensburg house fire; 1 dog dead

    The driver remained at the scene.

    The victim was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

    As of 8:34 a.m., N. Van Dorn Street was blocked off and drivers were encouraged to find alternative routes.
