MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating two business armed robberies that took place on Sept. 26 in Silver Spring.

MCPD said that around 11:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 11400 block of Georgia Avenue for an armed robbery.

Police said that a man entered Genet Ethiopian Market and insinuated that he had a gun and demanded money.

After looking through the counter of the store, the man left the business without money or any other items.

Soon after, the same man went into Rhuth’s African Kitchen and proceeded to go toward an employee.

The man then suggested he had a gun under his clothes and demanded money. He then went behind the counter, grabbed money from the cash register and left the area.

Montgomery County police encouraged anyone with information to enter a tip online or call 866-411-8477. The MCPD is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
