MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Four players from WVU men’s soccer appear on the midseason top 100 list from TopDrawerSoccer , which was published Tuesday.

Forward Sergio Ors Navarro is the highest-rated Mountaineer on this list, checking in at No. 22. The graduate student from Castellon, Spain, leads WVU in goals with 11, a mark that’s tied for fifth in the country.

Only two other players from the Sun Belt Conference — Taimu Okiyoshi of Marshall (No. 17) and Luca Nikolai of James Madison (No. 20) — rank higher in this list than Ors Navarro.

Two more WVU attackers appear in the top 50. Midfielder Simon Carlson and forward Marcus Caldeira are the No. 32 and No. 40-rated players in this list, respectively. Carlson’s four assists lead the Mountaineers, while Caldeira ranks second on the roster in goals with seven. Of note, Caldeira has scored at least one goal in each of his last three appearances, and is one goal shy of 25 for his career.

Defender Max Broughton is the No. 42-rated player on the TDS list, and the final Mountaineer included.

Players from five Sun Belt teams are included in this exclusive list, with WVU, Marshall and James Madison all boasting multiple representatives.

The Mountaineers are coming off their first loss of the season, a 5-1 setback at Dayton in their final nonconference contest of the regular season. Sun Belt play resumes Saturday against South Carolina at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
