    Police investigating after possible human remains found in Northeast DC

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) –The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said its investigating after possible human remains were found in Northeast D.C.

    Police said that at about 11:45 a.m., they were dispatched to the rear of a residential building in the 4300 block of Brooks Street for reports of remains found by some workers.

    When officers arrived at the scene, they saw what seemed to be human remains at the scene.

    MPD said they don’t know the sex or age of the victim.

    The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is responding to the scene and will determine the cause and manner of death.

    MPD’s Homicide Branch is investigating this case.
