University of Maryland celebrating Homecoming

COLLEGE PARK, Md. ( DC News Now ) — It is homecoming weekend in the DMV for several schools including the University of Maryland.

On Friday morning, homecoming kicked off with a food truck festival on campus. Several trucks were showcasing different kinds of foods.

Organizer Emily Berman from Resident Life said it is a great way to kick off a weekend of fun.

“We partner with local vendors with food trucks and restaurants around the College Park area,” Berman said. “It is a great way to promote their business, and it is a fun way to kick off homecoming weekend everyone loves food and food trucks.”

The football game kicks off Saturday at 4 p.m. against the University of Southern Carolina Trojans.
