    MPD looking for man wanted for fatal Southeast DC shooting

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said it’s looking for a man who is wanted for a fatal shooting that happened in Southeast D.C.

    Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department seek the community’s assistance in locating a wanted suspect in a fatal shooting in Southeast.

    On May 22 at about 10:45 p.m., they responded to the 4800 block of Alabama Avenue for the report of sounds of gunshots.

    Three people injured in three separate overnight shootings in DC

    When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot. He died there.

    The victim was identified as 35-year-old William Spriggs of Northwest D.C.

    Police identified the suspect as 42-year-old Darvin Banks of Southeast D.C.

    Banks is currently wanted on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for First Degree Murder while Armed (Premeditated).
