WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — News of a heat advisory in place Wednesday sent lots of people outside on Tuesday to get in a workout or some court time before the heat was set to roll in.

For those who called last week a false fall, we’re now in a second summer.

“Yeah trojan horse weather for sure,” said Jay Smith.

“Bro it’s so hot my chest is sweating,” said Jayden Lipscomb.

FORECAST: Keep up with current temps

While temperatures were back in the 90s, kids enjoyed time outside after school – or tried to.

“The heat, it gets to me a lot because I hate being in the heat, sweating, running and then I’m hot,” said Kamiya Appiah.

The splash pads are a nice reprieve.

“It’s hot as hell. Tomorrow’s going to be even hotter. Drink lots of water. I prefer coconut water over regular water,” said Linesha Littleton.

Littleton’s description of this summer is simple: “Hot, aggravating. Hot.”

Over at the skate park, though some preferred the hot to the cold, everyone was sweating up a storm.

“Man, I feel like I need an energy drink. And maybe a new shirt,” Smith said.

As people prepare for potential feels-like temperatures in the triple digits again, many are hoping for cooler days ahead.

“I’ll say the cold over the heat any time,” Littleton said.

“It’s hotter than Florida so I gotta tell ya’ll something. Drink a lot of water,” Lipscomb said.
