Rifle city council meeting round-up
Rifle City Council met July 17 to discuss purchases and appointments along with the audit for the financial year of 2023 for the city’s budget of that year. “We did receive a clean or unmodified opinion (of the audit),” said Scott Rust, Finance Director for the city of Rifle. “The unassigned fund balance of Dec. 31, 2023, was a little over $12 million, and this equates to over 100% of general fund expenditures.”
City of Rifle to adopt updated traffic code
The Rifle City Council discussed on July 17 adopting the updated Colorado Model Traffic Code from the previous 2019 edition to the more modern 2024 edition. “Rifle is functioning under the prior model traffic code for Colorado, adopted back in 2019,” said Kathy Pototsky, the Court Administrator for Rifle’s municipal court. “At the time, it was a huge overhaul, in terms of the changes from the prior edition to that 2019 edition.”
