BEAUMONT — Cash Saver on Lavaca Street serves as the only means for south end residents in Beaumont to get fresh produces and groceries in their community. "It's convenient for me because I come here for lunch, you know, but actually for the people that live around here, they don't have a choice but to like it because it's the only store, you know, they have great prices, you know, it's just not a big enough store," says Jeanetta Rawls, a frequent shopper at Cash Saver.

On July 31, Terry Michael Wesley, 33, of Hope, Arkansas, was convicted of a man of rape and exposing another person to HIV, following a three-day trial. Wesley was arrested on New Year’s Day 2023 for the incident of rape.
