Mean Girls and Saturday Night Live alum Tim Meadows is set to star in CBS’ comedy pilot DMV , from the 9JKL team of co-creator/showrunner Dana Klein , Kapital Entertainment and TrillTV and CBS Studios.

Written by Klein based on author Katherine Heiny’s short story, DMV is a workplace comedy set at the place everyone dreads going most: the DMV. Our quirky and lovable characters are making minimum wage, doing a thankless job where customers are annoyed before they even walk in the door. Good thing they have each other.

As Deadline exclusively reported last month , CBS had given a pilot order to DMV and has commissioned a development room for Eternally Yours , both produced by CBS Studios.

Meadows will play former high school English teacher Gregg, the examiner who likes to get through the driving tests, and the day, as quickly as possible. An uncanny ability to make dead-on observations of those around him, Gregg is sardonic, defeated and would love nothing more than to retire.

Klein executive produces with Kapital’s Aaron Kaplan, Trill TV’s Wendi Trilling and Anonymous Content’s Robyn Meisinger. CBS Studios is the studio.

Recently seen reprising his role as Mr. Duvall in Paramount’s Mean Girls musical, Meadows’ other notable recent film credits include the Nicolas Cage comedy Dream Scenario . Meadows portrayed John Glascott on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs throughout its ten seasons and starred as the same character in Schooled ‘s two-season run. He’ll next be seen starring in Michel Gondry’s musical film, Atlantis , set for May 2025. He’s also set to star in the second season of DC’s Max series, The Peacemaker , and in Simon Rich’s Broadway play, All In. He’s repped by Reliant Talent Agency and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
