While walking the Emmys red carpet, Witherspoon stopped by to talk to comedian Heather McMahan for E! News, who asked the Legally Blonde star if she had watched any reality TV.

“I feel like I can’t catch up,” Witherspoon said about watching The Real Housewives .

Witherspoon noted, “But I did sit next to a Real Housewife on a flight recently.”

This particular tidbit even made her Big Little Lies co-star Laura Dern gasp. McMahan wanted the tea from Witherspoon, who asked, “Are we going to name names?”

“Umm, well, we might have a Hello Sunshine project cooking now, but I can’t say anything,” Witherspoon teased. “But it was cool, it was very cool.”

Witherspoon didn’t say what city the Real Housewives star is from, but this has fans of the franchise buzzing about who it could be.

E! News had another buzzy moment during their Emmys coverage when Laverne Cox got emotional interviewing Baby Reindeer star Nava Mau.

“I’m so excited… Nava… join….,” Cox said before embracing the actress in an emotional moment. “I’m supposed to keep it together, I’m the host.”

After regaining her composure, Cox told Mau, “I’m so proud of you. This show is so incredible, and the work that you do is so amazing.”

Cox reminded viewers that she was the first openly transgendered person to be nominated for an acting Emmy 10 years ago.

“And ten years later, I’m not the last,” Cox continued. “You’re the fourth and you’re the first in this category.”
