FX’s The Bear after conquering the 2023 Emmys with ten wins, teed off tonight’s Primetime Emmy broadcast with the second Primetime Emmy win for Ebon Moss-Bachrach in Best Supporting Actor Comedy.

Moss-Bachrach plays the troublesome cousin Richie to Jeremy Allen White’s top chef Carmy on the series. The two ended season 2 with a big blowout fight with Richie calling out Carmy over the way he treats his love, Claire. Moss-Bachrach thanked his fellow cast members and series creator Christopher Storer.

Moss-Bachrach beat out his co-star Lionel Boyce who plays Marcus on the FX series as well as Paul W. Downs for Hacks, Paul Rudd in Only Murders in the Building, Bowen Yang for SNL, and Tyler James Williams for Abbott Elementary.

As of this post, The Bear counts 19 Primetime Emmy wins through two seasons. It will likely be more by the end of tonight’s broadcast.

Post the success of The Bear, Moss-Bachrach scored a big lead role in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Fantastic Four: First Steps in which he plays Ben Grimm aka The Thing. That Disney release hits theaters next summer on July 25, 2025. The movie finally unites The Fantastic Four universe, previously hatched by 20th Century Fox (which had access to a portion of the Marvel universe), with Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At the time of this post, Jeremy Allen White won his second Comedy Series Actor Emmy for the Storer series in addition to Liza Colón-Zayas winning Best Supporting Actress Comedy Series, Jamie Lee Curtis Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, and Jon Bernthal Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.
