Two-time Emmy winner Jeremy Allen White teased his forthcoming role as Bruce Springsteen in the biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere.

Speaking to Deadline during the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, White said he was reluctant to discuss the film until he got to work on it but has been grateful for the direction and support he’s received from the creatives involved, as well as the legendary rock singer-songwriter himself.

“I’m so excited to start this thing,” The Bear actor said. “We’re going to start pretty soon. You know, I don’t want to talk about it too much. It feels wrong before getting there and starting the thing.”

He continued, “But I can say I’ve got a really beautiful team of people helping me and Bruce has been really lovely and supportive and available, which has made this whole process an extra joy. His support and Jon Landau, his management support, who has a large role in the film as well. So I feel really lucky.”

From 20th Century Studios, Scott Cooper’s film , based on Warren Zanes’ eponymous book, traces Springsteen’s long journey toward putting together his seminal 1982 album Nebraska , which began to take shape as the guitarist and the E Street Band were working on the hit record Born in the USA. Both Sprinsteen and Landau, who will potentially be portrayed by Jeremy Strong, are involved in the making of the pic.

Filming on the series’ fourth season concluded in June.

Deliver Me From Nowhere expects to commence principal photography this fall.
